GetGo - is a station-based carsharing service in Singapore. This means you can rent a car for your trip, but you must return it to exactly the same location. If you take the car from point A, you must return it to point A. The difference between station-based and free-floating carsharing is that with free-floating, you can take the car from point A and return it at point B. GetGo operates over 1,700 locations and offers more than 3,000 vehicles for rent across Singapore.

Who Can Become a Customer

Anyone aged 19 or older with at least 1 year of driving experience. If you are a foreigner, you will need to send additional documents to the service's email.

Refueling

Each vehicle has a fuel card. If you need to refuel, visit a partner gas station and fill up the tank.

Who Can Use GetGo Carsharing in Singapore

  1. People aged 18–24 with at least 1 year of driving experience.
  2. People aged 25 and above.
  3. Drivers with a P-plate license (a type of provisional license for beginners or those temporarily restricted due to traffic violations).

When you refuel the car, you receive a bonus of 6 Singapore dollars (SGD).

Toll Road Features

Each car is equipped with an IU (In-Vehicle Unit) device. You can insert a personal CashCard or EZ-Link card to pay for toll roads.

Carsharing Rates

There are two main types of rates: hourly and daily. Rates are also categorized by car class and fuel type (separate pricing for electric vehicles and internal combustion engine vehicles).

Hourly rates of GetGo

Hourly rates include a base price per hour plus a charge per kilometer. Prices vary depending on car class and peak hours.
An economy class car can cost between 3 and 9 Singapore dollars (SGD) per hour. Each kilometer driven costs 0.39 SGD (0.30 US dollars (USD)).

Electric vehicles cost more to rent. Prices range from 5 to 12 SGD per hour. At the same time, in the same Select class, an internal combustion vehicle costs 4–11 SGD per hour.

The rental cost of electric vehicles also depends on vehicle class and demand. One advantage is that the cost per kilometer is lower: 0.29 SGD per km, compared to 0.39 SGD per km for combustion engine vehicles.

Daily rates follow the same logic as hourly rates but apply for 24 hours. The per-kilometer cost remains the same as with hourly pricing.

The daily rental price depends on the day of the week. Vehicles cost more on weekends and public holidays. For example, an economy internal combustion vehicle from Monday to Thursday costs 70 SGD per day, but on Friday or holidays, it costs 80 SGD.

A standard class vehicle costs 80 SGD per day from Monday to Thursday, 90 SGD on Friday, and 120 SGD on Saturday or Sunday.

Insurance and Liability

All vehicles in the service are insured under a basic insurance plan. In the event of an accident that causes damage to the company’s vehicle, third-party vehicles, or life and health, the customer is financially liable through what is known as excess or co-payment.

If the driver has 2 or more years of driving experience, liability depends on the insurance package selected:

  1. Without coverage — 6,600 Singapore dollars (SGD): 3,300 SGD for damage to the company vehicle and 3,300 SGD for third-party damage. If no third party is involved, the cost is just 3,300 SGD.
  2. Standart — 2,300 SGD: 1,150 SGD for company vehicle + 1,150 SGD for third-party vehicle.
  3. Enhanced — 900 SGD: 450 + 450 SGD.

For users renting Luxury or Premium Electric vehicles, liability is higher:

  1. Without coverage — 11,000 SGD: 5,500 + 5,500 SGD.
  2. Standart — 5,500 SGD: 2,750 + 2,750 SGD.
  3. Enhanced — 4,500 SGD: 2,250 + 2,250 SGD.

Optional packages to reduce excess liability cost:

  1.  Standart: 5% of the trip or booking cost.
  2.  Enhanced: 10% of the total trip or booking cost.
GetGo Insurance and Liability

Liability for drivers under 23 or over 70, or with less than 2 years of experience, is as follows:

  1. 11,000 SGD without insurance.
  2. 5,500 SGD with Standart option.
  3. 4,500 SGD with Enhanced option.
GetGo Insurance and Liability 2

Insurance includes coverage for the rented vehicle (comprehensive) and third-party property, injury, or life. The total liability is the sum of both categories. For example, without coverage: 5,500 SGD for company car + 5,500 SGD for third-party vehicle.

These same liability amounts apply to this category of drivers if they are using Luxury or Premium Electric cars.

None of the optional packages include downtime, loss of vehicle value, or administrative costs such as fines, towing, and similar expenses in the event of an accident.

If the driver is aged 23–69 and has more than 2 years of experience, then liability in case of damage to a Luxury or Premium Electric vehicle is as outlined above.
