Who we are
Getmancar is an international car rental and car sharing service that combines the convenience of technology with the flexibility of traditional car hire.
We built a product that lets you get a car exactly when you need it – for a few minutes, hours or days, with no unnecessary paperwork or complicated steps.
It works just as well for everyday city trips as it does for travel, business and long-term rental.

Our story
Getmancar has grown into an international car rental and car sharing service, but it started with three cars and one person.
In 2006, Taras Getmansky founded RACE – Rent A Car Enterprise. The fleet had just three cars – no air conditioning, not even a radio – but plenty of drive to build a business of his own.
The first customers literally came in off the street: “Car Rental” signs were stuck on the cars, they were parked around the city, and calls came in to a single landline. Some days there were only a few calls, some days none at all.
After a stable career at the Ministry of Justice, this felt unfamiliar. But it was a deliberate choice: to build his own business and take full responsibility for the results.
The fleet grew, followed by the first employees and offices in other cities. Along the way, the company’s core principle took shape:

The first serious test came at the end of 2007: a large-scale fraud nearly cost the company about 70% of its fleet. The cars were recovered, and the experience only sped up expansion to other Ukrainian cities.
In 2014, the war cost the company three of its regions and more than 80% of its revenue. Instead of retreating, it went international – and that is how the first offices in Georgia opened.
Rapid growth showed that traditional processes could not scale. The team turned to automation and eventually built its own car sharing platform, combining years of rental experience with digital technology.
Today, Getmancar operates in 8 countries, runs car sharing in 3 of them and keeps entering new markets. The main goal stays the same – to make renting a car simple, convenient and accessible for everyone.

My husband and I decided to visit my parents outside the city over the weekend. We don’t have a car, so we used car sharing.
