Is this a loan or not?
No. We are not a bank and not a financial company, so we do not lend money. Our contract is a car rental with a purchase option — the option is your right, not your obligation: until the last payment the car belongs to Getmancar, after it the car passes to you if you choose to buy it. For you it works like a loan: you pay part of the price upfront, then monthly, and you end up owning the car.
What documents do I need?
A passport, a driving licence and the deposit.
Not required: proof of income, credit history, Yellow Slip or bank statements!
Will I be refused if I arrived in Cyprus recently?
No. The programme was built for exactly that case: a Cypriot credit history, a Yellow Slip and proof of local income are not required. A passport, a driving licence and the down payment are enough.
What if I want to buy the car out earlier?
You can, at any moment — by settling the outstanding balance, with no penalties or fees. Early settlement suits us as well, so we put no obstacles in the way.
Why is there a mileage limit?
You choose the limit when signing — from 5,000 to 30,000 km a year; the prices on this page are shown for 5,000 km. Mileage directly affects what the car is worth at the end of the term, so the buy-out price depends on the limit you pick. Above the limit you pay at the rate written in the contract in advance.
Who pays for insurance and servicing?
Compulsory insurance, road tax and the MOT test are arranged and paid by us and reimbursed in your monthly payment. Full cover is either through us or arranged by you with Getmancar as the beneficiary. Servicing and tyres are on you — the car is going to be yours.
What if I change my mind and do not want to buy it?
That is your right: the option is not an obligation. You hand the car back and the contract closes. The payments made are the price of having used the car, exactly as in any rental.
Car finance in Cyprus: how rent to own works
What rent to own means
Rent to own — also known as hire purchase — is a rental with a purchase option. You pay a down payment from 10% of the car price, a fixed amount every month, and at the end of the term you may buy the car at a price fixed in the contract on the day of signing. We are not a bank and we do not issue loans: this is a rental with a purchase option, which is why no Cypriot credit history or proof of income is required.
What it costs
A Toyota Yaris 1.0 with a 20% down payment is 243 € a month including VAT over 48 months, with a 5,485 € buy-out at the end. Choose the version where the car is paid off over the term and the payment rises to 322 €, but at the end you buy it for one euro and the total comes out lower. We are more expensive than a bank and we say so plainly: that is the price of a decision made in a day and without certificates.
What documents are needed
A passport, a driving licence and the down payment. No proof of income, bank statements, Yellow Slip, credit history or guarantors. You get an answer on the day you ask, and the car right after signing: the fleet is already in Cyprus, there is nothing to wait for.
Which cars are available
The programme runs on great cars from Japan — new and with up to 50,000 kilometres: Toyota Yaris and Aqua, Nissan Note, Mazda 2. All right-hand drive as Cyprus expects, and in the naturally best condition. You can arrange it in Larnaca and Limassol, with Nicosia and Paphos next.
Car finance or a car loan
People searching for car finance in Cyprus or a car loan usually mean the same thing: getting a car now and paying for it monthly. A bank does that as a loan, with a credit check and a file of documents. We do it as a rental with a purchase option — no bank involved at all. The money is cheaper at a bank; with us the decision takes a day and needs a passport and a licence. We are not a lender and we never call our product a loan in the contract.
